The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) is seeking technical sessions to be presented at its 43rd Annual Spring Conference. This year’s event will take place April 27, 28, and 29, 2010 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Laramie, Wyoming. The Chapter anticipates approximately 150 participants including public works professionals, contractors, exhibitors, and elected officials.The theme of this year’s conference is “Building a Better Machine.” The event will focus on ways to meet building and infrastructure demands through “smart” planning and engineering using both innovative and time-tested practices to improve the quality of life for future generations. The three technical tracks are: Nuts n’ Bolts of Operations, Non-Traditional Emerging Trends, and Business/Administrative. We ask that your presentation fit into one of these three tracks. The 42nd Annual Spring Conference was held in Pocatello, Idaho, April 21st - 23rd, 2009 at the Red Lion Hotel.  It was a huge success!  160 people attended the conference with another 35 people participating in single events.  The conference theme was, "Gateway to Smart Growth:  Creating and Maintaining a Sustainable Community". The exhibit hall was packed with 29 booths plus several outdoor product demonstrations.  MetroQuip showed off their Envirosight camera line while owner Brad McCoy showed off his dance moves at the hypnotist show.  Val Kotter & Sons lined a manhole in the parking lot.  Pro Builders showed how easy it is to install a helical pier.  Conference attendees were happy to get outside and watch the demonstrations.The success of this conference depended on our sponsors and exhibitors.  A special thanks goes out [ ... ]
